Computer Room

Well, although the computer room looks like a classic ICL setup from the 1970s, I actually photographed the installation in February 2002. It's a model in the Science Museum, South Kensington. It's been there as long as I can remember, as an example of a modern, up-to-date computer suite.

In fact, the computing display includes such up-to-date information as this (note the present tense):

(Actually, there is some fantastic stuff in the computing gallery, including huge mag disks, an early prototype drum storage, Phillips' hydraulic model of the economy etc, not to mention the Babbage machines. But some of the displays of "modern" technology could do with an update!)
