To our great surprise, it is possible to take the Caledonian Sleeper from Euston, direct to Corrour. The service leaves Euston at 9:05pm (but cabins are available from 8:30). Travelling through the night, the service splits into three (for Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William). We awoke passing Loch Lomond, to the throaty roar of a class 37 diesel, and found that we had reversed direction in the night without noticing - most disconcerting. The sleeper lounge is a great place to sit over a leisurely breakfast, watching the Highlands slip away past the windows. At Rannoch, I popped out to make sure the driver was stopping at Corrour (it's a request stop). At 8:52am, we bade goodbye to the sleeper at Corrour, and set off on our walk.
